Terms of Service

About TrueLite

TrueLite is a platform operated by City & Banner that enables Christian ministries to create forms, capture responses — including salvations, testimonies, RSVPs, and pledges — and follow up with respondents. By accessing or using TrueLite, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

These terms govern two distinct relationships: (1) between City & Banner and “Ministry Accounts” (organisations and individuals who sign up to create and manage forms), and (2) between Ministry Accounts and the members of the public who submit those forms (“Respondents”). City & Banner is not a party to the relationship between a ministry and its respondents.

Eligibility

To create a Ministry Account you must be at least 18 years old and have the authority to bind the organisation you represent to these terms. You may not use TrueLite for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms.

Ministry accounts

When you create a Ministry Account, you are responsible for:

  • Keeping your login credentials secure and not sharing access with unauthorised individuals. You are liable for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • Ensuring that any forms you publish comply with applicable law, including obtaining any required consent from respondents before collecting their personal data.
  • Using respondent data only for the purposes disclosed to respondents at the time of collection, and in compliance with our Privacy Policy.
  • Ensuring that team members you invite are aware of and comply with these terms.
  • Promptly honoring respondent requests to access, correct, or delete their data, in line with applicable data protection law.

Forms and submissions

TrueLite provides tools to create and publish forms. You retain ownership of the content of your forms and of the submissions you receive. By storing that content on TrueLite, you grant City & Banner a limited licence to host, display, and process it solely to provide the service.

You must not use TrueLite to create forms that:

  • Collect sensitive personal data (e.g. health, financial, or government ID data) without appropriate safeguards and legal basis
  • Mislead respondents about the purpose of data collection
  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Harass, deceive, or exploit respondents

City & Banner reserves the right to remove forms that violate these terms without prior notice.

Audio recordings

Certain form types include a guided confession or testimony feature that captures an audio recording of the respondent. Where you enable this feature, you must ensure that respondents are clearly informed that they are being recorded and have given their explicit, informed consent before recording begins.

You must not enable the recording feature in a context where the respondent has not been clearly informed, or where recording without consent would be unlawful. Recordings may only be used for the pastoral or administrative purpose disclosed to the respondent.

Integrations

TrueLite may allow you to connect third-party services such as Google Sheets, WhatsApp, and webhooks to your forms. You are responsible for ensuring that any data transferred to a third-party service through an integration is handled in accordance with your obligations to respondents and applicable law. City & Banner is not responsible for the conduct of third-party services once data leaves TrueLite.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use TrueLite to send unsolicited communications (spam)
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform or to another user's account
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of TrueLite
  • Resell or sublicence access to TrueLite without our written consent
  • Use automated means to scrape or extract data from the platform

Intellectual property

TrueLite, including its design, code, branding, and content produced by Banner Raisers, is owned by or licenced to City & Banner. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of TrueLite intellectual property to you.

You retain all rights to the content you create — your forms, your copy, your branding. You grant us only the limited licence described in Forms and submissions above.

Privacy and data protection

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal data. By using TrueLite, you acknowledge that you have read and understood it.

Ministry Accounts act as data controllers in respect of their respondents' data. City & Banner acts as a data processor on your behalf. We process respondent data only on your instructions and in accordance with our Data Processing Agreement, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.

Service availability

We aim to keep TrueLite available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may carry out maintenance, apply updates, or temporarily suspend the service. We will try to give advance notice of planned downtime where practical.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give ministry accounts reasonable notice and the opportunity to export their data.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, City & Banner shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or in connection with your use of TrueLite.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising under or in connection with these terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim or (b) £100.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless City & Banner and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of TrueLite, your forms or submissions, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.

Account suspension and termination

You may close your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms, if required by law, or if your account has been inactive for an extended period. We will try to give notice before suspension except where immediate action is necessary to protect the platform or other users.

On termination, your access to the service will cease. We will retain your data in line with the retention periods set out in our Privacy Policy before deletion.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify ministry account holders by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of TrueLite after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you should close your account before they take effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless otherwise required by law in your jurisdiction.
